Whoa!!! I can’t believe this is my FIRST post of 2020 guys!! I know we’re pretty much into February now but don’t judge me lol!! It’s the beginning of the year and what better time to get into some MUCH needed teeth whitening!? I know personally my teeth are in need after the holidays with all the food and red wine I ate and drank… oh and after surviving the flu (yikes) lol!! Needless to say when Smile Brilliant reached out to me about trying their teeth whitening system I was sooo excited!! You guys… can I just say that this system is pretty amazing!! As I mentioned in a previous blog post last year, I do whiten my teeth every 6 months (through my dentist) so they weren’t terribly stained but I definitely noticed a difference after using Smile Brilliant! So let’s get into it… oh and if you read all the way to the end of this post… there MIGHT be a surprise for you lol *wink wink* so come on, let’s go!!
How Does Smile Brilliant Work?
The process was relatively easy… I was sent a package (you’d receive yours after purchasing the system) that had everything I needed to get started. Inside the package were the syringes with the whitening solution in them, syringes with desensitizing gel, 3 sets of putty to make my impressions for my custom trays, instructions, and a prepaid envelope to send off my trays! So the first step was making the mold for my custom trays. I will say this was BY FAR the hardest part of the process!! The impressions have to be almost perfect so that they can make your trays and you only get about a minute after mixing the putty before it begins to harden. My suggestion is to REALLY read the directions THOROUGHLY before attempting to make your molds!! If all else fails… the customer service is impeccable, it took me a couple tries to get my impressions right and they practically held my hand the entire time!! Once I FINALLY (lol) got my impressions done I sent them off in the prepaid package that was included in my kit and waited to receive my trays!
The Process
Once I received my custom trays back from the lab it was go time!! I was able to fit my whitening sessions into my nighttime routine since the process was fairly simple. To get started you’ll want to brush your teeth with water ONLY as the fluoride in the toothpaste will reduce the whitening. Next, I applied a thin (but not too thin) line of gel into my top and bottom applicators, be sure to put the gel on the front of the trays where it will touch the surface of your teeth. Next, pop the trays in your mouth and wipe any excess gel from your gum line and you’re good to go!! It’s that simple! You can wear your trays from 45 minutes to 3 hours. I only wore mine for 45 minutes at a time, because I do keep up on my whitening so I didn’t feel the need to leave them on for 3 hours. After my 45 minutes were up I removed the trays and rinsed them with cool/cold water and then brushed my teeth as I normally would! I did this for about a week and a half. That’s it!! Super simple right!?
My Results
So again, I do want to touch on the fact that I religiously whiten my teeth every six months with a system from my dentist, so your results may not be exactly like mine. However, I did skip my last whitening treatment with my dentist because I wanted to give an honest review of this system! Here’s the tea… IT WORKS!! lol, I would definitely recommend this system to people who want to move up a few shades or to just maintain a whiter smile. Do I think that it’ll take your teeth from severely stained to as white as Ross’ teeth on the episode of Friends where Ross bleaches his teeth!? NO! Side note if you’ve never seen that episode of Friends… do your self a favor and google it!! LOL thank me later!! With that being said, Smile Brilliant is definitely worth purchasing in my book!!
